Giving overlooked dogs a second chance at life…

Our Mission

“Embodying the ‘Aloha Spirit’ through dog rescue by providing unconditional love, compassion, patience, and guidance for man’s best friend.”

In the Hawaiian culture, family holds a sacred place and is considered the main foundation of society. The concept of an ohana (family) extends beyond immediate relatives and includes our community, friends, and man’s best friend. We wanted to incorporate our Hawaiian culture into our dog rescue. The advantage of being a small-based rescue is that we’re able to focus on providing quality individualized care for our rescue dogs and build strong relationships with our supporters and community. We strongly believe that quality 1 on 1 care for our rescue dogs help them to become the best versions of themselves and truly set them up for success in their furever homes!

No breed left behind in our rescue ohana

Amidst the windswept sands of Hawaii, our quest is to embody the essence of the ‘Aloha Spirit’ in our mission to save dogs. We seek out the overlooked, at-risk dogs from high-kill shelters and welcome them into our rescue ohana (family). We hold steadfast in our belief that no breed should be left behind, regardless of the negative stigma that may be attached to them. Our mission is to carry on the Hawai’i spirit of Aloha by welcoming all breeds and sizes of dogs into our rescue. We strongly believe that what makes a good rescue is one that doesn't discriminate against any dog— regardless of their breed or size!

Our quest extends beyond the bounds of our rescue. We strive to raise awareness and educate the public on the on-going issues that lead to the pet overpopulation crisis and high euthanasia rates throughout the nation. We will use our voices and our platform to advocate for the ways we can reduce the pet overpopulation crisis by being a part of the solution, whether it's choosing to adopt, foster a dog in need, or donating to our rescue.

Our rescue is deeply rooted in advocating for pitbull/bully breed type dogs. We strongly advocate to break through the stereotypes that have been woven around these highly misunderstood breeds for decades. Despite the misconstrued way the media portrays these breeds of dogs, by deeming them “dangerous"," aggressive”, and “unpredictable”, our rescue is here to prove people otherwise. Although we know we can’t change everyone’s mind, we can certainly educate the public. By raising education on these breeds through their genetics, training, and responsible pet ownership- our goal is to paint a better picture of these beautiful dogs. We welcome you to our rescue ohana, a rescue family united in purpose, bound by the spirit of Aloha, and devoted to advocating for adoption and the betterment of all dogs.

Our Principles

  • RESCUE

We are on a quest to save dogs from high-kill shelters that are in immediate danger of being killed just simply for space due to the pet overpopulation crisis. Although the sad and true reality is that “we can’t save them all”, we are firm believers that quality rescue care is what makes a reputable rescue.

Our mission is to help man’s best friend rise from the bottom to the top with the guidance of love and trust despite the suffering, abuse, and neglect that they have endured in their past lives. This strong bond and love between man and his best friend is what drives our mission forward to help our rescue dogs heal, learn, love, understand, and trust again.

  • ADVOCATE/EDUCATE

We’re rescuers on a mission to advocate for the overlooked, misunderstood, and neglected. Our rescue is on a mission to use our strong voices and platforms to break the pit bull/bully breed stereotypes by advocating and speaking up for the innocent overlooked underdogs who have no voice.

Our team of fosters and volunteers provide rehabilitation, basic training, education through resources on dog psychology prior to our rescue dogs transitioning to loving forever homes. We remain active in the dog’s care throughout their lives along with assisting our community of fosters and adopters with continued guidance and support.

  • BASIC TRAINING

Training is an essential part in a dog's success in the home and is an integral part of our rescue. Training oftentimes prevents dogs from being returned to the rescue or shelter they came from.

All of our dogs complete standard training— this includes learning basic commands, potty training, crate training, loose leash walk, and obedience training. Dogs that are dealing with more challenging behaviors, we make sure to troubleshoot it with a professional dog trainer. Adopters are given the information and tools needed to continue their training with their new dog along with our support. A well-educated owner and a trained dog are the best combination for a successful and satisfying relationship that will last a lifetime.
